Admin note

A fellow blogger is promoting some of their wares in their Etsy shop to help fund their upcoming move (donations also accepted on the fundraising page on their blog). Help out if you can, even if it’s only increasing visibility by reblogging or linking. Being in a tight situation myself, I haven’t been able to purchase any of the beautiful jewelry for sale, but it’s well worth talking a look!

Pagan Medallions

It really is hard to find Pagan jewelry in some places (like where I live). Luckily, there are some crafty Pagans out there willing to share their secrets!

Ozark Pagan Mamma

Most of the time, I don’t wear jewelry unless it is meaningful to me in some way; my wedding band, a gift from one of my children, or something that reminds me of my spirituality. Pagan jewelry and pendants are not something you can get at any corner jewelry or department store. You usually have to seek out a new age or occult shop to find them. Whereas, other religions can find their symbolic jewelry, pendants and medallions anywhere. It’s not fair, I know. But think of it this way; it just gives us more opportunities for craft projects! You can make your own Pagan medallions depicting any deity. It takes surprisingly few materials and is relatively inexpensive.

Materials:
a bezel
deity image
small scissors
mod podge
small paintbrush
(pourable) liquid glaze

Use an internet image search to look up a deity image for your medallion. I especially like…

Gearing up

Some days, I don’t feel like there’s enough coffee in the world to jump-start my day. Today is such a day.

I’m chugging it down though because I’m seeing Tiger this morning and I haven’t seen her in almost a week.

That’s right, we finally moved into a place of our own just over a week ago.

While it’s been great in so many ways, it’s also been an adjustment and a flurry of things to get done. Tiger has been busy, too, so we haven’t seen each other since last weekend.

I decided to take a little break from blogging while we settled in, so in my spare time (which hasn’t been much until yesterday) I decided to dive a little deeper into the Google+ community. Facebook has become somewhere I don’t like to be, so I’ve pretty much walked away from that, but that’s another post.

The only down-side to G+ is that while there is a thriving Pagan community there, it’s mostly Vloggers. I’ve never been comfortable vlogging. I have been running around watching theirs though (and commenting, although I think the more usual way for them is to do VR’s, or Video Responses) and I’m glad I did. I’ve met some incredible people over there.

In other news, my fur-baby, Duchess, has been a little under the weather. She’s a pug and the day we moved, she was playing on the porch with one of her fur-cousins. I think she breathed in a piece of fuzz or tiny piece of fabric. She’s had sinus issues off and on since.

She’s not alone. The weather finally seems to be trying to change here and as always, my chronic rhinitis is rearing it’s ugly head.

I can’t take regular allergy pills for it (like Benadryl) because I have to take those if I get bitten or stung (I’m allergic to everything that bites or stings, it seems) and I’m out of my regular medication and keep forgetting to pick some up. The shit isn’t cheap, either, not if I want something that actually works anyway.

So, that’s an update on me. Where I’ve been and where I am on social media if you want to find me. Hope you’ve had a wonderful week and have a Blessed weekend!

Blessings!

Perfect Waning Moon De-Stressor Spell

Who couldn’t use a little less stress in their life? A basic spell that can be elaborated on if you wish.

20140918-205431.jpg

What you need:
– a black candle dressed in your choice of either herbs, oils, carvings or absolutely nothing.
– a piece of paper and pen.
– a cauldron or fire safe container. Mine has sand in the bottom of it.
– an athame (optional) if you don’t have one you may use a butter/steak knife, a stick, a spoon, your finger…etc.

What you do:
– charge candle with the intention of ridding your body of stresses and pains.
– if your path requires a circle then you may conjure one and call the quarters for extra power. This too is optional. However you raise power, do that now.
– write your stresses on a piece of paper and visualize your stresses disappearing into the ink coming out of your pen.
– when ready ask air to rid them from your mind and earth to rid them from your body.
