A post worth reading (and it’s short and to the point, too) on how to use crystals without the fuss!
It’s looking like the “Big Move” might be fast approaching, and I’ve spent the last week in “gather mode”.
Tiger and I hit two Hospice and one Goodwill Thrift store. I got a few pieces for my kitchen that I’m thrilled about including a green Hull butter dish, a green ceramic candle holder in the shape of a pipe (which the hubby LOVED), and a ceramic wall hanging with apples on it that Tiger lovingly repainted green for me.
There is also a piece that belonged to my Dad that she has. It’s cherries, but again, she’s going to repaint that green for my kitchen as well and the fact that she’s giving it to me moved me to tears.
In addition to all that, I’ve also started working on a cookbook.
I love to cook and I’m looking forward to having a kitchen to try out some of the new ones I’m gathering.
I’ve been doing a lot of soul-searching lately. Asking myself questions like “what do I really enjoy doing, and exactly what parts I enjoy?” It’s been helpful in focusing my sometimes scattered mind and I’ve realized that there are certain types of cooking I enjoy most and one that I’m interested in learning more about.
I guess I’ve always loved crock-pot and casserole cooking (and I’m gathering new recipes for both), but Draco has always been the “grill guy”.
I’ve decided I want to purchase an indoor electric grill and start doing some grilling of my own. I’m very excited about that!
I’ve also decided to start making candles again. I used to make them a lot and although I’m sure I had a reason at the time, I can’t remember now why I stopped.
On top of all that, I think Tiger and I are going to be looking into volunteering at the local animal shelter.
I’m feeling very optimistic about the future and I can’t wait to start this next chapter in our lives!
Although I miss people from where we moved from and wish I could see them more often, this move has been the best thing for us and I don’t regret it. It was one of the few good choices we’ve made in a long time.

I have spent some time this morning working on the set-up of the blog. I finally did the “About” page so that it wasn’t showing just my generic bio from Google and I added some Category Pages so that when I post from my phone (which is how I usually post since my time at an actual computer is limited most of the time), posts will automatically show up where I want them to go.
I connected Networked Blogs, too, although I really don’t know if anyone still uses that or not (I’ve been out of the blogging loop for too long).
I also followed a few more bloggers because I love seeing what others are doing and it gives me something to read when I have a little time on my hands.
This weekend, I’m going to be working on starting to put together a cookbook for myself. I hope to eventually share of the recipes on the blog, but for now, I’m gathering for my own personal use.
I also have plans to start work on my BOS. Both my personal hand-written cookbook and BOS were in a storage building we lost when a job my husband had last year suddenly cut hours and it was a struggle to keep a roof and food and we had to cut all extra expenses while almost 2 hours away from where our building was. It was unfortunate and those two items are two of many I sorely miss. So, starting over is the only option available to me.
These things are keeping me busy, and I’m glad for it. Having too much idle time on my hands is a bad thing indeed!
This morning has been a flurry of activity already and I’m not done. Tiger hasn’t even gotten up yet and I feel like I’ve already lived an entire day!
Ok, it’s time for this witch to head off into the rest of her day! I hear a sausage biscuit calling my name!
